Peninsula Junior Chamber follows the spirit of “Serve the Community, Train Ourselves” since our establishment in 1969. We develop projects based on the needs of the community and offer training opportunities to the youth while contributing to the society. Our flagship projects include “Hong Kong Youth Translation Competition” which is jointly organized with Home Affairs Department for 36 years and “We Love Schooling” Guizhou education support programme which is entering its 12th year. The education of about 1000 children in Guizhou rural area are sponsored by the “We Love Schooling” programme every year. The programme has also improved the education conditions for over 7000 students.

Reducing pollution, fighting climate change and sustainable development are the focus of the world. Important targets for pollution reduction and renewable energy development are set in the China's 12th 5-Year Plan. The environmental industry is also highlighted as one of the six new industries of Hong Kong. It is clear that the environmental industry is the focus in both Hong Kong and Mainland China. Although China is boosting great business opportunity for the environmental industry, how can Hong Kong environmental companies take advantage of it? Entering the China market already poses some practical challenges. China's market structure is also complex. How can environmental companies be sure that their products and services fit China's goals and customers' needs? How can they be successful in China's market? These are issues which environmental enterprises must face and tackle.

In the face of such challenges, Peninsula Junior Chamber is organizing the Hong Kong Environmental Industry Summit 2011. It provides a platform for representatives from different areas, industry experts and environmental businesses to discuss and exchange the latest ideas in policies and trend. It allows enterprises to promote new concepts, products and services on environmental protection. This event is supported by the Environmental Protection Department, Federation of Hong Kong Industry, Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, Business Environment Council, CleanTuesday Hong Kong, Green Institute Hong Kong, Hong Kong Environmental Industry Association, Hong Kong Invention Association, Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks, Sustain Asia Ltd and Hong Kong WEEE Recycling Association.
